Still time to register: DePaul Summer Writing Conference
Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:12AM DePaul University, along with the Chicago Public Library, is hosting a Summer
Writing Conference July 16-18 at DePaul's Loop Campus. This year's conference
will feature: craft classes in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well
as classes on playwriting and writing for children and teenagers; panel topics
such as "Why Writers Should Blog" and "What Publishers Want", and keynote
speaker Michele Rubin, literary agent with Writers House in NYC.
CWA is well represented in this conference. CWA members who are teaching fiction
classes include Bayo Ojikutu and Christine Sneed. Two classes
on the Day 2 schedule, "Promoting Yourself as a Writer" and "How to Promote
Yourself on the Web," are being taught by CWA President Randy Richardson and Jen
Wilding.
There are after-conference receptions and open mikes at Blackie's after each of
the first two days.
It's pre-registration only and registration is limited! So check out each day's
schedule and register for one day of writing-related fun ($110) or for the whole
conference ($260) here.
